The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) has announced a revision to the reporting time for candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination), particularly those assigned to the first session.

In a statement released on Monday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Board said candidates scheduled for the first session are now required to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the previously stipulated 6:30 a.m. It added that the session will commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.

“Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00am as against the earlier published 6:30am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time 10:30 am,” the notice read.

JAMB further clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips in light of the adjustment.

According to the Board, the revised timetable maintains four examination sessions daily from Monday to Friday, with adjusted time slots across all batches to improve coordination and ensure smoother operations at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

The adjustment, it said, was introduced in response to feedback from candidates and parents, particularly concerns over early morning travel challenges, safety risks associated with movement before dawn, and logistical difficulties faced by candidates travelling long distances.

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026.
