Nigerian singer Inetimi Timaya Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has once again expressed his skepticism about marriage, advising singles to focus on having children rather than pursuing the institution.

In a video currently circulating on social media, the dancehall star was seen in the company of fellow musicians Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, and rapper Phyno. During the conversation, Timaya suggested that young men should prioritize having children, stating that marriage does not work.

“Just born pikin. Pikin go grow. This marriage thing nor dey work,” he said in Pidgin English.

Timaya has previously shared similar views about marriage. In June 2022, the singer hinted that he might never get married. In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account at the time, he noted that Jesus Christ never married and described himself as Christ-like, implying that he may follow the same path.

Despite never being married, the singer is a father of four children from three different women.
