The immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University and renowned Professor of Pharmacy, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, has joined the Agbara and Oze̱gu communities in mourning the passing of a revered patriarch, Chief Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor, fondly known as Esesuo Agbara, who passed on at the age of 93.

Describing the late elder as a symbol of wisdom, service, and moral authority, Prof. Babalola said Ogbuefi Ilobanafor lived a life that stood as a “masterclass in community leadership, humility, and an extraordinarily large heart of forgiveness.”

According to the distinguished scholar, the late Esesuo Agbara was widely respected as a friend to all—a man who embodied the rare balance of gentleness and courage. She noted that while he stood firmly for truth and justice, he remained dignified, humble, and deeply humane in his dealings with people from all walks of life.

Prof. Babalola further described the late patriarch as a tireless advocate for communal progress, unity, and development, stressing that his reputation for integrity remained unblemished throughout his long and impactful life. “His selfless devotion to the wellbeing of his people earned him enduring reverence and affection,” she noted.

Reflecting on the legacy of mentorship left behind by the elder statesman, Prof. Babalola pointed to his son, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, MD and CEO of CEOAFRICA, as a worthy bearer of his father’s values. She described Prince Ilobanafor as a dependable pillar of support to many, whose philanthropy, resilience, and commitment to service mirror the ideals instilled by his late father.

As the Ilobanafor family prepares for the final rites of passage, Prof. Babalola urged them to draw strength from the remarkable life and achievements of the departed patriarch. She expressed confidence that his memory would remain evergreen in the hearts of all who encountered his warmth, wisdom, and generosity.

Chief Ogbuefi Clement Nwagbogu Ilobanafor is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, many of whom have distinguished themselves in various fields, continuing the legacy of service, leadership, and integrity for which he was celebrated.
