The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention is currently taking place in Ibadan, where party leaders have taken delivery of the PDP flag, the Nigerian national flag, the National Convention flag, and several others.

The PDP National Chairman, Amb. Ilya Damagum, received the party’s flag, while the Chairman of the National Convention and Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, received the National Convention Flag.

The Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, received the Nigerian Flag, whereas the host governor, Seyi Makinde, collected the Oyo State Flag.

Additional dignitaries who received flags at the ceremony included the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, who obtained the Senate flag, and Hon. Fred Agbedi, who received the House of Representatives flag.

The Convention commenced with the accreditation of more than 3,000 delegates who assembled in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The accreditation of delegates from all 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory—an initial step before the voting process—began earlier in the afternoon.

Ibadan has been lively since Friday as party supporters from various parts of the country arrived in the political hub of the South-West region.

Earlier, the Chief Host and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, had on Friday hosted a dinner, which was attended by PDP Governors, former Governors, BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara and the party’s National Working Committee.

Among those in attendance at the dinner were Governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Rivers, Zamfara, former Governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Ibrahim Dankwambo.
