Dr. Lang Fafa Dampha, the esteemed Executive Secretary of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN), has officially retired, marking the end of an illustrious career dedicated to the promotion and preservation of African languages and cultures. In recognition of his significant contributions, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, Managing Director and CEO of CEOAFRICA, has expressed profound gratitude and admiration for Dr. Dampha’s impactful tenure.

In a heartfelt tribute, Prince Cletus remarked, "The passion with which Dr. Dampha has worked is unparalleled. He has truly devoted his life to his people and continent. He viewed African languages not just as a means of communication, but as sources of pride for Africa. He has inscribed his name in gold, and history will be kind to him as he transitions to the next phase of his life."

Highlighting Dr. Dampha’s unwavering dedication, Prince Cletus stated: "For those who dedicate their lives to the service of their homeland, they will never be forgotten in a hurry. As energetic as he is, I urge him to continue serving until African languages occupy a prominent place in every aspect of life.”

He added, "I tell him now: 'No retreat, no surrender.' His commitment toward promoting African languages and ensuring that no African is left behind deserves our utmost respect. We owe him a big thank you and urge anyone who steps into his shoes to emulate his record and build on the successes he has achieved."

Reflecting on their time working together, Prince Cletus noted, "The moments we spent collaborating feel like just yesterday, as the passion he exhibited in his work is invaluable."

As a final salute to Dr. Dampha’s legacy, Prince Cletus declared, "Long live African languages! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Long live the African Union!"

Dr. Dampha’s retirement marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the history of ACALAN, but his influential work will continue to inspire future generations in the pursuit of a united and culturally rich Africa.
