The senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun-East, Buruji Kashamu, has said he will influence the creation of Ijebu State if elected.

Buruji, who is also the Chairman, Mobilisation and Organisation of the PDP in the South-West, said this on Thursday at Ijebu Ode while inaugurating his campaign.

He said he would represent the people well and that he would use his position to bring development to his constituency.

He said, “I will commit myself to the creation of Ijebu State, the realisation of the Olokola Free Trade Zone and the revamping of the proposed Cargo Airport in Remo division. I am irrevocably committed to the realisation of these programmes and will do everything within my power as a legislator to make them possible.

“I will use my contacts to lobby various ministries, departments and agencies of government at the state and federal levels to bring worthwhile projects to Ogun-East, in particular, and Ogun State, in general.”

He said that he had empowered many people over the years through his Omo Ilu Foundation. Kashamu noted that he was not a seasonal politician looking for fame or wealth.

He added, “I am not a seasonal politician. I have been with you all through the years, politics or no politics. You all know the various empowerment initiatives that we have done through the Omo Ilu Foundation.

I promise to do even more when I am elected by you as a senator representing Ogun-East senatorial district.”

He urged his people to vote for all PDP candidates at the general elections.
