AFCON U17: Nigeria, 11 others set to know opponents Wednesday

Golden Eaglets  of Nigeria and others would know their opponents on Wednes­day, February 24 in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations U-17 final competition fixture.

According to a statement by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), the tournament will be played in Morocco from March 13 to 31, 2021. It will be the 14th edition in the series (19th edition if tournaments without hosts are included).

The draw, which will be conducted by CAF Director of Competitions, Samson Adamu will be live on CAF platforms.

According to CAF, the draw procedure will be com­municated in due course.

The qualified teams are: Mali and Senegal (WAFU Zone A); Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria (WAFU Zone B); Zambia and South Africa (COSAFA); Uganda and Tanzania (CECAFA); Alge­ria and Morocco (UNAF); and Cameroon and Congo (UNIFFAC).

The top four teams of the tournament would have nor­mally qualified for the 2021 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru as the CAF representatives.
