Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has made another historic landmark as the institution  installed fully automated hand-washing stations, temperature checkers, infrared soap and hand sanitizer dispensers as part of effort towards curbing COVID-19 pandemic.

Recall that the university has produced alcohol based sanitizers and sprays that were given out to Ogun State government as their support in fighting the pandemic.

During the commissioning of the machines, the Vice Chancellor of the great citadel of learning, Professor Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola stated that the move was part of the COVID-19 requirements for tertiary institutions.

She disclosed that the machines, which she described as, ‘state-of-the-art devices’ are fully automated for detection and delivery of the services which they are designed to perform.

Babalola equally stated that “the three-in-one handwashing machines” are of two categories. The first category mechanically dispenses soap, water and sanitizer, with the aid of a foot pedal. The other category automatically dispenses soap, and blows essential quantity of warm air to dry the hands before sanitizing, after washing from the tap, which is situated in the same machine.

She added that the machines have been positioned at vital areas in the institution such as the Main Gate, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Male Hostel, Female Hostel, Academic Block, Health Center, University Auditorium, and the Cafeteria. The aim is to drastically mitigate the risk of contracting the raging COVID-19 Pandemic.
