A good number of supporters of former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, today converged at the West of Mines Office of the Department of State Services to witness the questioning of the ex-CBN top official.

The supporters chanted solidarity songs were while bearing witness but were however, prevented from entering into the DSS compound.

It was earlier reported by newsmen that Mailafia was invited by the DSS to appear at its office in Jos on Monday with the invitation being the third in the last one month that the former CBN Deputy Governor was being asked to appear at the DSS office following an interview he granted to a radio station in which he accused an unnamed Northern governor of being the leader of Boko Haram.

Mailafia who arrived at the DSS office around 11 am together with his wife, Margaret, and his lawyer, Yakubu Bawa, among others including several clergymen was not released until around 2.55 pm.

In his address to his supporters after his release, Mailafia criticized his latest invitation by the DSS, as he said it was uncalled for.

Mailafia while thanking his supporters insisted that the killings in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country must stop. His words: “Thank you all for being here. Many have said the worst things and nobody invited them. I hope this will be the last time I will be invited to the DSS office. All that I am saying is that the killings must stop.”
