Sixteen months after Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, first made an attempt to sack some directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and merge the directorates, the minister eventually carried out his desire on Wednesday.

At an emergency meeting in the Federal Ministry of Aviation called and headed by Sirika, the minister sacked three directors and merged their directorates.

Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi, Director of Consumer Protection, tendered his resignation about a week ago.

The resignation letter of Abdullahi obtained by our correspondent, dated August 28, 2020, was sent to the Director-General, NCAA, with the heading, ‘Resignation of Appointment as Director of Consumer Protection, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority,’ and stated that he would step down from his position from September 28, 2020.

According to Adamu, the essence of the resignation was to enable him pursue some other personal interests.
