COVID-19: EgyptAir announces re-opening bookings for domestic, international flights

EgyptAir announced it will re-open bookings for domestic and international flights as of May 16 in anticipation of any decision to resume flights after it has been halted since March 19 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

EgyptAir said that in case the flights are cancelled, and the decision to suspend flights continues, the bookings will be postponed to other dates without fines applied to passengers.

According to statements from officials at the airliner on Wednesday, a total of 128 flights will depart Cairo International Airport to different capitals and Arab and foreign cities, as well as to internal cities as of May 16. This comes in accordance with the old operating mechanism before the travel ban, while all fights will be subject to the government’s decision to resume.

On Tuesday, four U.A.E. airlines, which are Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, Arabic and Fly Dubai, announced resuming reservations via their websites as of mid-May in preparation for the possible resumption of passenger flights.
