Cairo- As newly appointed governors and deputy governors were sworn in on Wednesday, the Egyptian state has made a historic step as it has appointed political youth from opposition parties in senior executive positions.
The movement to appoint youth as deputy governors has been carefully planned for months, as the political leadership has deliberately selected young politicians from opposition parties belonging to different currents of thought. It also selected young people from the Presidential Program for the Rehabilitation of Youth for Leadership PLP.
Many hard-working young people in the community who have long proposed ideas to improve the performance of the government in many economic, political and social issues were selected.
The step comes in line with efforts to provide adequate representation of young people in high-level posts, including also in the Egyptian parliament, in order to benefit from creative way of thinking and their untraditional proposals to solve current national challenges.
