Chrisland University founder, Awosika honours with ‘Moojila of Egba’ Chieftaincy title by Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo

The founder and Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Winifred Adefolahan Awosika (OON) has been conferred with the chieftaincy title ‘Moojila of Egbaland’ by His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, (CFR) the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland.

The conferment of the chieftaincy title which took place at the Alake palace in Abeokuta, Ogun State was in recognition of Awosika’s many great achievements and contributions to humanity most especially on the establishment of Chrisland University, Abeokuta where many of the indigenes of the land have had access to education and employment in the institution.

In his statement, Oba Gbadebo said “Dr. Chief Mrs. Awosika, you are being honoured today for pioneering everything in education most especially on the establishment of the best private university (Chrisland University) in the Egbaland. We are doing this in recognition of your many great achievements and contributions to humanity in our land”.

Oba Gbadebo however wished the new Moojila of Egbaland long life and prosperity with many more achievement in years to come.

In her remarks, the Moojila of Egbaland, High Chief Dr. Mrs. Awosika said she feel highly honoured on the special title bestowed on her.

“I thank God for being blessed with this special position in Egbaland. I am happy and I really appreciate the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Micheal Adedotun Aremu for the honour” she said.

Awosika however pledged to perform all duties attached to her title to the best of her ability honestly, consciously, loyally and endeavor to obey all rules, customs and traditions of the Egbas as laid down by the Kabiesi of Alake and the paramount ruler of Egbaland.

The event had in attendance many Oba’s from Egbaland, former deputy governor of Osun State, Mrs. Titi-laoye Tomori, Chrisland University VC, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, other management and staff of Chrisland University, Alake’s Chiefs, families, friends and well-wishers among others.
