The General Manager of Spice Kitchen and Restaurant, Mr. Gabriel Oladotun Olatoye has disclosed that the kitchen is opened to enable people eat good foods at affordable prices and in a very comfortable environment.
The General Manager said this while speaking with CEOAFRICA during the declaration celebrations of the kitchen which was declared opened for business by Hon. Akintunde Olajide, the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Cooperatives in the Oyo State House of Assembly at Agbowo, Ibadan in Oyo State.
Speaking at the event, Olatoye said “We are open to enable people eat good foods at affordable prices and in a very comfortable environment”.
“We have noticed that Africans are hardworking people but they don’t usually have time for good meals, so we at Spice Kitchen and Restaurant want to be there to provide them with good meals anytime, be it in the morning, afternoon and evening” the GM said.
He stated that “there are vendors that provides good meals in Nigeria. It is not that we don’t have such but where you can have such standard are quite expensive and unaffordable for the common man except for the rich people. We now think to create the kitchen for every class of people as our mission implies ‘to be a strong life support for Africans through the provision of healthy and sophisticated foods and drinks to the people” he said.
Olatoye added that his inspirations towards starting the kitchen came from the experiences he has had from the other parts of the world. “Those other parts of the world are not so rich as we used to assume, but no matter their statuses, they eat good meals unlike us that eats anything we see every day”.
In his words while declaring opened the Spice Kitchen and Restaurant, Hon. Akintunde Olajide, a representative of Lagelu constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Cooperatives in the Oyo State House of Assembly said “On behalf of the speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, I declared this place open for the goodness of the people, for people to come around and eat good food with sound health and prosperity”.
“As the Chairman, Commerce and Cooperatives in the Oyo State House of Assembly, I understand what the economy situation of the state is and the only way we can revive it is when we have more industries, more commercial centers like the Spice kitchen. Am here to grace the occasion of the grand opening of this place and to make sure that the government is in line with more investors in the state” Hon. Akintunde said.
Meanwhile, Hon. Olajide Olatoye popularly called ‘Big Daddy’ and elder brother to Gabriel Olatoye said “In the world of today, we can’t exist without food because it is a major thing for survival and that is the reason why we have chosen to invest in this area”.
He also stated that Spice Kitchen and Restaurant is affordable for everybody irrespective of their status.
In her comments, Mrs. Farounbi Lara said “Looking at the environment, you could see that what will coming from them will be very nice. I know the Chairman of this place is a perfectionist and he won’t leave any stone unturned. I can vouch for their services because I know most of their caterers too”.
Also, a customer identified as Oluwafemi stated that those that are in charge of the kitchen really tried, the place is nice, and they have offered us tasty meals.
In his own reaction, Engineer Emmanuel Ayaka said “the taste is excellence”.
Another customer, Ayobami Emmanuel said “the meal is okay. With time, the customers will be many while the staff should identify with how to attend and appeal to customers to sustain the business.
The event was enlivened by Hon. Akintunde Olajide, a representative of Lagelu constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Cooperatives in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Popoola Ademola Olusegun, Hon. Olajide Olatoye, Mrs. Lara Farounbi, families, friends and well-wishers who had the tastes of good meals before departing to their various destinations.
