LATEST: UK PM’s suspension of parliament unlawful, court rules

Scotland’s appeal court on Wednesday ruled British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to suspend parliament this month was “unlawful”.

A summary of the judgement said Johnson’s advice to Queen Elizabeth II that parliament be prorogued from this week until 14 October “was unlawful because it had the purpose of stymying parliament”.
