A Bafana Bafana’s key players, Lebo Mothiba this evening is preparing to make his debut in the UEFA Europa League.

Lebo Mothiba has been named in RC Strasbourg’s matchday squad for their encounter with Lokomotiv Plovdiv this evening as they look to take on step closer to booking their spot in the group stages of this year’s tournament.

The 23-years-old, scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, and was crucial in Strasbourg’s Coupe de la Ligue win in order to secure a place in the qualifying rounds of this year’s UEL.

Now, having been given extra time off following his participation at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt, the forward has been named in Thierry Laurey’s squad for the first time this season, and will be hoping to get his continental debut in France tonight in the decisive leg of their clash with the Bulgarian side.

Strasbourg won 1-0 away from home in the first leg to give them a good base for tonight, and Mothiba’s return will give them a boost as they look to get a couple more goals on home soil.

Victory this evening will – in all likelihood – see the Ligue 1 outfit pitted against German side, Eintracht Frankfurt, after they beat Vaduz 5-0 in the first leg, though that will only be confirmed tonight when those two sides lock horns in a few hours’ time. The winner of the next round secures a place in the group stages.

Mothiba and Strasbourg get underway at 20h30 tonight (SA time).
