The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Ibadan, also known as 3SC, has denied a player who claimed to be a member of the 3SC feeder team, apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for reported cybercrime.

The anti-graft agency had on Tuesday said it apprehended three men among who was one Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo who claimed to be a member of the 3SC feeder team on Monday.

Ogini was apprehended alongside his brother-in-law, Alabi Okikiola; and his friend, Jonas Okwuwe; at a residence around the Fortune Estate, Ologuneru Olonde area of Ibadan.

A neighbor who raised high suspicion on the careless and exorbitant lifestyle of the suspect, without any known reasonable source of income had written this petition which aided this arrest.

The club affirmed that it has no feeder team as claimed by the self-acclaimed player.

The Team Manager, Dimeji Lawal, confirmed that the only player who was with 3SC and later joined Crown FC of Ogbomoso on loan is known as Ogini Olatunbosun.

“We don’t have any player called Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo, neither do we have a feeder team at the moment,” he confirmed.

The club’s media officer, Tosin Omojola denied knowledge of the arrest of any 3SC player.

Omojola said, “Our attention has been drawn to a report linking one, Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo, reported to have been arrested by the EFFC, to the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan.

“We would like to inform the public that 3SC currently do not have a player named Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo and that the team does not even have a feeder team as at this moment, following the disbanded of the feeder team over a year ago.

“Although the said Ogini was formerly of the disbanded feeder team, he had left the club five years ago, even before the eventual dissolution of the feeder team.

“What we have presently is an Academy and the coaches of the young lads confirmed that the said Ogini Oluwaseyi Dayo has not been training with them.

“The only player named Ogini, who recently played for 3SC and has since been loaned to Crown FC, where he is presently plying his trade, is Ogini Olatunbosun.”

Also, a one-time player of the club, who is now on loan to Crown FC, known as Ogini Olatunbosun, clarified that he was not the one apprehended by EFCC.

“Ogini Olatunbosun is my own name and not Oluwaseyi Dayo and I am presently with Crown FC of Ogbomoso on loan from 3SC,” he clarified.
