The Owo community will on Thursday officially announce the passage of their revered and first-class monarch, Olowo of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi

CEOAfrica had reported the passing of the king in the early hours of Wednesday at the age of 77.

A visit  to the ancient town, revealed that the king’s demise was a surprise to many as residents gathered in groups still discussing the death of their monarch, who was a law lecturer.

With general calmness in the town, one of the palace elders disclosed that the demise of the king would be pronounced any moment from now.

He also added that traditional rites had commenced for the departed traditional ruler.

“All the necessary rites have begun. The branches of the tree around the market would be cut off.

“The three markets in the town which are usually opened for businesses on the same day will be allowed to operate simultaneously on a fixed date.”
