“Protect Us Not Kill Us” – Laura Ikeji reacts to Lagos Police statement on Tattoos And Dreadlocks being a new culture

Fashion entrepreneur, Laura Ikeji has reacted to a statement made by the Lagos state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, concerning tattoos and dreadlocks.

Bala stated that tattoos and dreadlocks are strange to our culture in Nigeria, that is why people who appeared that way are getting harassed by security operatives.

“tattoo and dreadlock are strange to our culture especially for Nigeria. Most times when you arrest cultists, many of them have signs on them”, he said.

Reacting to the statement, Laura Ikeji shared:

“Reform the police, reform SARS. I’ve got tattoos too, does that make me a target? Common guys, protect us not kill us.”
