Nigeria 2019 Elections- Ndigbo have been called upon to support the candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi, to fast-track the much desired Igbo president.

Secretary of Igbo Re-awakening Forum, IRF, Anambra State chapter, Chief Amechi Ayalogu, who made the call in Onitsha yesterday, shortly after a meeting of key stakeholders of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, advised Ndigbo not to make a grievous mistake that will turn out to be detrimental to the future of Igbo race.

Ayalogu who is also a Board of Trustees, BoT member of Mass Action Joint Alliance, MAJA party, regretted that Ndigbo remained the most marginalised ethnic group in the country, despite the enormous contributions of the race to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

He stated that Nigeria could only achieve its potentials if only Ndigbo were given their rightful position in the country, even as he called on all ethnic groups to see Ndigbo as partners in progress and support them in the quest to have a Nigeria president of Igbo extraction.

Ayalogu commended Atiku for showing regards to Ndigbo by picking Peter Obi as his running mate, describing the move as the “shortest and most realistic route to Igbo presidency.”
