Outgoing President of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) Prof.  Christopher Ndubisi Ogbogbo, has lauded the accomplishment of the current leadership of the HSN by affirming that they have fought a good fight.

He made the assertion at the just concluded 63rd annual conference of the society which was held recently in Kaduna.

According to Ogbogbo, “this annual gathering marks the end of my tenure as President of HSN and that of the current council. Let me assert that inspite ofbthe occasional hiccups, we have fought a good fight in the last four (4) years”.

He thanked members of the society and all who stood by them in a bid to actualize the society’s mandate.

He added that they have been able to build on the achievements of the previous administration.

“We have been able to consolidate on the achievements of the previous administration. We have successfully brought the fight “bring history back to the classroom” to an end.

“We are happy that the Minister of education, the Nigerian Education Research and Development Council (NERDC) and other critical stakeholders appreciate and recognize the humongous role of our society to consolidate the teaching of history in our school system,” he noted.
