An Indian man, Nilesh Khedekar, 25, took over his city with billboards apologising to his girlfriend after they reportedly had a fight.

The Hindu reports that  Residents of Pimple Saudagar area of Pimpri Chinchwad, near Pune, woke up on Friday to see several posters, carrying the line “Shivde, I am sorry” in bold print with a heart symbol beside it in red, dotting the area’s prominent traffic intersections.

The act, however, is likely to get Khedekar, a local businessman, in trouble as the city’s police have approached the Pimpri Chinchwad civic body to initiate action as per rules dealing with illegal hoardings and defacement of public property.

Police investigation revealed that Khedekar wanted to apologise and make up with his girlfriend after they quarrelled and, therefore, came up with this “creative” idea.

“The girl was coming on Friday to the area from Mumbai. Under the cover of darkness in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, over 300 hoardings were put up on the route which the girl was likely to take,” a policeman revealed.
