Oyo guber aspirant, Hon Sugar organizes intensive ICT Training and Empowerment for 10,000 youths

The federal lawmaker representing Lagelu/Akinyele constituency,Chairman House Committee , Urban Development and Regional Planning and 2019 gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State on Monday, July 16, 2018 started the second phase of training and empowerment for 10,000 Oyo State youths through his self-funded foundation, Olatoye Sugar Foundation (OSF) at the OSF headquarters located on plot 100, UI-road Agbowo, Ibadan.

The second phase of the training which was divided into morning and afternoon session had several Oyo indigenes from all facets of life in attendance.

Hon Temitope Olatoye Sugar while addressing the students encouraged them to take the training with all seriousness as it will make them relevant in their chosen field even at the international level.

Honorable Sugar while fielding questions from CEOAfrica disclosed that the training was established to reduce the rate of unemployment in the state. “This programme was basically initiated  to reduce the rate of unemployment in Oyo sate and to keep the youths busy so that they will not be involved in illegal acts such as intake of marijuana and all. There are several other provisions for youths aside this, very soon, we will start a driving class at Liberty Stadium so that the youths will be exposed to the proper way of driving, and this will also reduce the rate of accident.

“In the same vein, we also have a large land which is ready for cultivation for any willing youths and some other things as God gives the enablement.”

Mr.Olawoye Dickson, a staff in the department of Information and Publication in National Assembly, Abuja, who is one of the instructors at the training while speaking with CEOAfrica, said “Honorable Temitope Sugar is very humble person, in fact, I love the way he addresses issues in the House. When he told me about this programme, I gladly accepted the offer because of his personality. The training is one of its kinds in Ibadan and I am sure the students will be relevant anywhere they find themselves afterwards.”

While rating the students’ participation during the lecture, he said, “The students were reserved and listened with rapt attention, I’m proud of them”

One of the students in attendance, Mr. David Oluleye who is a teacher by profession during an interactive session with CEOAfrica, said “I heard about this programme from a friend, I registered online and when I got here, I confirmed it was free as it was announced. I am very happy to attend the class today, I have learnt a lot and I am grateful to Hon.Sugar for organizing this training. May God bless him. If we have a quite number of people like him in Nigeria, I am sure this country will be a better place.

According to Mr Sanni Mutiu Titilope, who is also a computer instructor, disclosed that  the students will be exposed to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint, Corel Draw Graphic, Typing skills, Image scanning and Internet technology.
