ACC Seeks Automatic System To Curb Graft

The Chittagong Port and Custom House will never be free from corruption until all the activities are brought under full automation system, Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Commissioner Nasir Uddin Ahmed said on Wednesday.
The ACC commissioner made the remark while addressing a view exchange meeting at the Chittagong Custom House, as the chief guest.
Stating that the anti-graft watchdog wants to see Chittagong Port and Customs corruption-free, the official said stern actions will be taken against anyone if found guilty of corruption.
He, however, appreciated that bribery was decreasing day by day and expressed hope that it would be stopped fully after bringing all operational procedures under automation.
ACC director in Chittagong Akhtar Hossain, President of Bangladesh Shipping Agent Association Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury, director Shahed Sarwar, were also present among others.
