Gunmen suspected to be cultists have kidnapped two persons including Pastor Mfon Akpan Udoneke, the Area Superintendent of Apostolic Church Ikot Akpa Idem village in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.

It was gathered that the suspected cultists also kidnapped a businessman and Deacon Alexander Tom Umoh who also hails from the same village.

According to a reliable source from the village who spoke to our correspondent in confidence for fear of the unknown said both incidents occured around 5am and 6am Monday (today).

Our source said Pastor Udoneke was kidnapped in his residence located within the church premises while preparing for Women fellowship prayer meeting that holds every Monday morning. “The two kidnappings were carried out by the same gang this morning. What happened is that after kidnapping the pastor they proceeded to the deacon’s area which is about 2kilometers from the Apostolic Church”.

Contacted Police Public Relations Officer DSP Odiko Macdon said he was not aware of the incident adding, “I have not received any report yet from the DPO. I am going to start making findings, so I am not aware of that”
