Happening Now: AU, LCBC Host Regional Conference on Stabilization Strategy for the Lake Chad Basin Region

 African Union (AU) and the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) are currently hosting the First Regional Conference on stabilization strategy on LCBC countries affected by the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) at the Hilton Hotel N';Djamena Chad.

 

This was revealed in a press release signed and was made available to CEOAFRICA by the Military Public Information Officer Colonel Mustapha Anka .

Engr Sanusi Imran Abdullah, the Executive Secretary LCBC in his opening address stressed the importance of the conference as it is a forum to strategize on how to bring about stability in the countries affected by the Boko Haram Terrorists .He therefore thanked the organizers for the timely event.

 

A paper presentation on Operational Situation Brief was presented by the Force Commander Multinational Joint Task Force, Major General Lucky Irabor.

The conference was declared open by Sadick Abdelkerim Haggar, the Honourable Minister of Water Resources Chad, who represented the Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad, His Excellency Albert Pahimi Padacke.

 

  

Present at the opening ceremony are His Excellency Ambassador Smail Chergui, Commissioner for Peace and Security and Mary-Ellen Mc MecGroaty Acting Resident Coordinator United Nations System in Chad who also gave a remark.

 The 3 day event is being attended by Executive Governors from the LCBC countries, governmental and non-governmental organizations , international humanitarian agencies , Military Personnel’s and others.
