Senate President, Senator David Mark, has said that the successor of the Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, must build on his enviable achievement and his solid foundation.

Senator Mark declared this at the weekend, in Ondo, during a public lecture and book launch, entitled: ‘An evolution of Ondo Kingdom over 500 years’, to celebrate the 60th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary of the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo.

Mark, who had earlier been conducted round the trauma centre and the mother and child hospital in Ondo by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, lauded the governor on the landmark achievement recorded in the health sector.

He said:  “When I was walking round the hospital, there was no odour. I find it difficult to call it a medical village; I thought we’ve been going round some hotel accommodation or a 5-star hotel accommodation.”

He added: “Other people should come here and see what the governor and his team have put together to change the healthcare system in this state and by extension in the country. Whoever succeeds you must build on the solid foundation you have laid and I want to say that your success is hinged on the prayers and support of the good people of Ondo State.”
