GOVERNOR AMOSUN INSTALLS NEW MONARCH IN ORU-IJEBU AFTER 16YRS

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has yeaterday installed Oba Rasaki Adebanjo Ajayi Katen 1 as the new Oloru of Oru-Ijebu in Ijebu North local government area of the state.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the Chieftanincy seat which was filled yesterday has been vacant since the demise of the former king, Oba Anthony Ogunsola, in June 1997, precisely 16yrs.

Amosun, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Muyiwa Oladipo, charged the monarch to play a fatherly role to his subjects, including those who contested the stool with him.

The governor urged the traditional ruler to promote the culture and welfare of people of Oru and Ijebuland in particular and the state in general.

Oba Ajayi who expressed gratitude to the kingmakers for finding him worthy of the stool also extended his hands of fellowship to those who contested stool with him.

He also at the platform appealed to the state government to upgrade the police station in the town and rehabilitate the road that leads to the Oru Refugee Camp, among others.
