The Olu of Lisa Oba Najeemdeen Odugbemi (Odu1) has urged the Ogun State Government to work towards rehabilitating Lisa Road which is currently in bad shape.

Lisa Road is approximately a 10.5 kilometre stretch to the Arcade ground of the 2005-2006 Belview plane crash.

Oba Odugbemi reminded the state government of the monumental resource and life memory event that occurred in the city about 24 years ago( the crash of Belview plane) even as he said that developing Lisa town would be like waking the sleeping giant of Ogun State tourist centers.

He said that since he became the king of Lisa, he had been self-financing the projects in the community without any assistance from the government

Odugbemi who was speaking during a courtesy visit to his palace by the executive officers of the Ogun state chapters of the Nigerian Union of Journalists and National Association of Women Journalists, said: “Our major problem is the issue of bad road network from Ijoko to Lisa, I want the Governor and the President to come to our aid for this issue”.

“I don’t need any money from the government, we are not fully fed, but we are not hungry either, what we need from them is roads, even though, they should forget about the light for now, give us a road from Ijoko to Lisa we will appreciate that”.

“The road is so big to us, without a good road network, there will be no development since our Senator resumed to Abuja, he hasn’t been picking up calls anymore”.

“I know our President and Governor are listening to people, only what we can do to support them is pray for them, as they are doing in the US, a citizen will say God bless America every morning”.
