Former Liberian minister, Louise Siaway among Queen mothers honoured in Houston (Photos)

An honour of Queen mothers of the African Diaspora has been given a former Liberian Minister of state, Culture, Information and Tourism, Honourable Louise Siaway, and 8 others.

The honour given at the Queen Celebration event, is the Houston version of a traditional Angolan event held annually, and which coincides with this year’s International Women's Month.

Held the SAiD Pan-African Library in Houston on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the event was Celebrating Queen Mothers of the African Diaspora and United Nations Holiday remembering victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

The event was hosted by Houston-Luanda Sister City Association in partnership with Resiliart Angola, American Schools of Angola, Harambee Art Gallery, Academy for Global Environmental Sustainability (AGES), Knowledge First Academy, SAID INSTITUTE, World Conference of Mayors (WCM), and African’s Brain Bank.
