Former U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley is suspending her bid for the Republican presidential nomination, according to CBS News sources.

Haley is to deliver remarks to the press, Wednesday morning in Charleston, in her home state of South Carolina.

The news of her dropping out was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

‘We’re honoured to have received the support of millions of Americans across the country today, including in Vermont where Nikki became the first Republican woman to win two presidential primary contests,’ said the spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas.

She then addressed ‘unity,’ a motion Trump has repeatedly moved for in a party that has come increasingly under his grip.

‘Unity is not achieved by simply claiming “we’re united.” Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump.

“That is not the unity our party needs for success. Addressing those voters’ concerns will make the Republican Party and America better,’ Perez-Cubas added.

As of 1am Eastern Time, Trump won twelve states with ease and by 3am, his victory in the Alaska caucuses was confirmed, Utah fell under Trump an hour later.
