ASABA 2023: Olu of Warri Pledges support for ACPN 42nd Annual National Scientific Conference

As part of the preparation for the 42nd Annual National Scientific Conference, tagged ASABA 2023, the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) executives paid a historic visit to His Majesty, Ogiamé Atuwatse III,the Olu of Warri to curry his royal support for  one of the most attended gathering of healthcare providers in Nigeria .

ACPN National Chairman, Pharm (Prince) Adewale Aderemi Oladigbolu who led the executive team to the palace described the visit as a formal courtesy visit to inform the Olu of the association forthcoming Annual National Scientific Conference in Asaba, Delta State.

In his response, His Majesty appreciated the executive of the ACPN for the visit. He described the community pharmacists as stakeholders in building the Nigeria we all desire. “They are highly respected professionals because of their invaluable services to the community; and hence they are the most trusted in health matters.” His majesty affirmed.

While inviting His Majesty to grace the august scientific conference, the association also use the opportunity to intimate the royal father of the Clean Medicines Initiatives which they say is to fight the wide distribution of fake, falsified and adulterated medicines which spell disaster for the public health of our communities. To mitigate this threat to public health, the association craved his indulgence to join the advocacy programme as partner in progress for Clean Medicines Initiatives.

The Olu of Warri while appreciating the courtesy visit, obliged the association’s requests and prayed for the success of the one week Annual National Conference of ACPN which will take place from 29th July to 4th of August, 2023.

The Olu of Warri told ACPN that his is interested on Community Pharmacy expansion to rural areas in his domain.

He further told  ACPN executive that he is very impressed with their presentation and activities of Community pharmacists.

Present at the historic visit are Pharm (Prince) Adewale Aderemi Oladigbolu FPSN, Pharm Eze Ambrose MAW, Okpegwa freeborn DCpharm, Pharm Joel Olili Uhrorho FPSN,Pharm Oghoyon David Avabore DCpharm, Pharm Mathew Okotie FPSN,Pharm ESE grace Ekhuemelo FPSN, Pharm(Dr) David Aje FPSN, Pharm Efeturi Dennis yovot, Pharm Johnpaul Ibe and cabinet members of Olu of Warri .
