The 2022 edition of the Nigerian Colleges of Agriculture and Related Discipline Games (NICARDGA), tagged ‘Ibadan 2022’, which started on November 13, 2022, has just ended, with the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT) emerging the overall winner.
This victory marks a record three consecutive successful outing in the history of the biennial game, as the FCAH&PT won the Kabba 2016, Ishiagu 2018 and now Ibadan 2022.
In a statement made available to CEOAFRICA by the provost of the college, Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, the management and staff of the school is excited to receive the good news as it congratulates the students, their trainers, as well as their parents who allowed them to represent the school.
Ibadan 2022, which is the 16th edition of the game, as COVID-19 never allowed the 2020 edition to come by, saw over 30 colleges in the ancient city of Ibadan, slugging it out in several sporting events, including all track and field events, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, soccer, scrabble, chess, among others.
Recall that CEOAFRICA had earlier reported that the event would be hosted by Federal Cooperative College (FCC), Eleyele, Federal College of Agriculture (FCA) and Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Apata in Ibadan.
The sporting event, which took place from 13th to 27th November, 2022, had its the games played at the colleges as well as the popular Liberty Stadium Ibadan, with over 2,000 athletes participating; the opening and the closing ceremonies held on 16th and 26th November respectively.
The FCAH&PT has continued to extend her lead as the all-time most winner of the competition, having lost in just one occasion.
