Popular comic actor and online comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad, aka Cute Abiola, on Friday announced his resignation from the Nigerian Navy for entertainment.
Cute Abiola made the announcement via his verified Facebook page.
He said his exit was approved by the Chief of Naval Staff.
The comedian’s exit comes hours after Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, appointed him as his Special Assistant on Creative Industries.
Cute Abiola said he will focus more on his career in the entertainment industry.
He said; “I am still a part of the Nigerian Navy family, and I promise to continue to positively represent the Nigerian Navy either in Nigeria or abroad. I am proud to have served in such an institution as the Nigerian Navy.”
While appreciating Vice Admiral, Awwal Zubairu Gambo, the Chief of Naval Staff and senior colleagues for their immense contribution towards the development of his career, the comedian described Nigerian Navy as his roadmap to a sustainable career path.
Recall that he was earlier in November, 2021, detained and punished by the Nigerian Navy for violating the armed forces’ social media policy after posting a video of himself in military uniform on social media.
