Ogun safety corps arrests 12 illegal miners

The Operatives of the Ogun State community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, code name, So-Safe Corps have arrested twelve illegal miners at Abeku Adekanmbi Village in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the State.
This was disclosed by the State Commander of the Corp, Soji Ganzallo  in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Muruf Yusuf, on Monday.
Ganzallo noted that the illegal miners were arrested last month while allegedly stealing mineral resources like coal and gold from under the ground.
The State Commander said he has ordered a preliminary investigation report to be sent to the State Headquarters of the corps.
He said; “To further ensure that other accomplices who escaped through motorcycles are brought to book.”
“Meanwhile, the arrested suspects had been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ijebu-Igbo Divisional Headquarters for onward transfer to the Ogun State Police Headquarter in Eleweran  for further investigation and likely prosecution.”
