The Secretariat area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, was on Monday flooded, which  made the existing traffic condition on the expressway in Lagos worse.
It was reported that the gridlock extended from the flooded Secretariat area to the Long Bridge area of the expressway.
Vehicles struggled to pass through the flood, motorists, passengers and pedestrians complained about the state of the road.
Meanwhile, the road is currently being reconstructed by Julius Berger and has been narrowed for repairs leading to the gridlock.
Julius Berger through its website claims that the reconstruction will take 30 months, which includes 10 pedestrian bridges and two flyovers as well as expansion of the road.
Julius Berger is in charge of the 43.6km stretch of the Lagos to Sagamu portion of the expressway.
