Adamawa Assembly appoints New Majority Leader

The Adamawa State House of Assembly appointed Japhet Kefas, who is representing Gombi State Constituency to replace Hammantukur Yettisuri who was representing the Jada Mbulo Constituency.

Yettisuri who defected from the majority party in the Assembly and the ruling party in the State, PDP had sought the PDP ticket for the 2023 House of Representatives Election but lost.

He then had defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) which gave him the ticket.

The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Aminu Iya Abbason on Tuesday while presiding over the resumed Plenary Session announced the appointment of Japhet Kefas as the new Majority Leader.

Kefas who was previously the Deputy Majority Leader of the 7th Adamawa House of Assembly since the Session began in 2019, thanked the Speaker and the whole House for the appointment and promised to maintain their Confidence in him.
