The Nigerian duo, Samuel Chukwueze and Peter Olayinka have been nominated for the UEFA Europa Conference League Goal of the Week.

Chukwueze scored once and also provided an assist in Villarreal’s 4-3 win against Polish side, Lech Poznań, at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Thursday night.

The 23-year-old restored parity for the Yellow Submarine in the 32nd minute, cancelling out Michal Skoras’ opener.

The winger, who captained Villarreal on the night set up Alex Baena for the side’s third goal.

Olayinka netted Slavia Prague’s only goal in the 1-1 draw at Sivasspor.

The striker, who was part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, won the ball in the Sivasspor half and rushed towards goal before firing under the crossbar from a tight angle.

Istanbul Basaksehir’s Hassan Ali Kaldirim and Wouter Burger of Basel are the two other players nominated for the award.
