Nigerians on social media have criticized the beauty pageant which was organized by Kirikiri Prison authorities for female prisoners to mark the 2022 International Women’s Day.

The beauty pageant which was held at Kirikiri correctional facility had Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of SuperTV CEO, Micheal Ataga as the winner and been crown ‘Miss Cell 2022’.

While some said there’s nothing wrong with that organising activities in prison, others totally condemned it.

One of those that reacted is a popular Journalist, Dr Kemi Olunloyo📡🇳🇬 who was an Ex convict. She wrote: I took part in the #PHMax Olympics during my persecution case & got a medal. Lots of activities in prison. Yesterday there was a dancing competition at Kirikiri prison women’s section. Far right is Chidinma Ojukwu who confessed to killing Michael Ataga CEO of SuperTV #kemitalks𓃵

@novieverest- In western countries, prisoners go to school, fulfill their ambitions, play football games and other games. It is not strange for them to have these things. It's just strange hearing it in Nigeria and with the gender toxicity on Twitter.

Chidinma Ojukwu being made Miss Cell 2023

@daishkawa- Aww!!! She look so pretty,

Congratulations Dear Chidinma Ojukwu. I know you regret the whole episode surrounding the death of Mr Ataga. You are also a victim of a system where men take advantage of young impressionable girl luring them with money and fame

@emmanuelossai__ There is actually nothing wrong with organising activities in prison. It’s a global practice. However, what I find insensitive & totally wrong is posting the information & pictures of Chidinma Ojukwu. This will only remind the man’s family of their loss. Such insensitivity!
