The President of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki said Olusegun Obasanjo has made Nigeria and Africa proud.

Saraki stated this in his congratulatory message to Obasanjo who clocked 85 today.

He prayed that God grants the ex-president good health to witness the realization of a peaceful Nigeria.

Saraki said: “Baba, Throughout your remarkable life you have consistently made Nigeria, and Africa proud. From your peacekeeping role in Congo in the 1960s as a young army officer; to your supportive role in the liberation efforts in Angola and Zimbabwe when you were our military Head of State; to the leading efforts that you made to bring an end to the apartheid system in Southern African — you have always demonstrated your dedication to the unity, peace, security, stability, prosperity, and development of the entire continent.

“This is why sir, as you celebrate your 85th birthday today, I pray that Almighty Allah preserves you to serve Him and humanity for many more years.

“May you live long and in good health to witness the realization of your dream of a united, prosperous, peaceful, and stronger Nigeria. Thank you for always making our country proud. Happy 85th Birthday Your Excellency!”
