After the warning issued to her workers against non-vaccination, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Monday morning barred unvaccinated workers and visitors from its premises.

Many of the workers and visitors were stranded at the gate grumbling and begging to gain access from as early as 8am.

The memo as refard the bar was issued last week, advising staff to go and take their COVID-19 vaccines to avoid  being barred from entry.

In the memo, the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah, who heads the surveillance team, has vowed that the enforcement will be sustained to ensure maximum compliance.

This warning was contained in a circular signed by the FCTA Permanent Secretary Olusade Adesola on Monday January 10, 2022.

The circular was addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), all Mandate Secretaries, Coordinators of AMMC, STDD as well as heads of all Departments and FCTA Agencies.

Attah told journalists there was no going back on enforcement of the directive from the FCT Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola.

He also emphasized that pictures of vaccination cards on phones will not be accepted.

According to him: “When Director Human Resources, Malam Bashir issued a circular and backed by a strong press release, by SSA, Malam Abubakar Sani, we started observing a gathering at the vaccination center.

“This morning we are very pleased that many people are trooping in to get vaccinated. Although they are telling us that the center is close to their office, we are also very impressed.

“We are also elated because we are seeing a large number of people taking their jab, some are taking their second jab and some are taking a booster jab. We are so happy about it”. said Bashir
