  Wednesday 27th Oct.2021:Kevin Akpoguma returned from his facial injury over the weekend in time to provide an assist in Hoffenheim’s 5-1 home win against Holstein Kiel, as they qualified  for the round of 16 in this season’s DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.
Akpoguma sustained the injury and had to be replaced in the first half of last weekend’s heavy defeat to Bayern Munich.
The Super Eagles star was however passed fit for the knockout tie and went on to provide the assist for Hoffenheim’s third goal.
It was Akpoguma’s third assist in nine appearances in all competitions so far this season.
 Samuel Chukwueze featured for  Villarreal In the Spanish LaLiga as they fought from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at home with Cadiz.
Chukwueze came on in the 61st minute for Manuel Tigueros while Villarreal were 3-1 down.
But goals from Boulaye Dia and Arnaut Danjuma in the 80th and 95th minutes, saw Villarreal claw their way back into the game.
Pau Torres scored Villarreal’s first while Anthony Lozano got a hat-trick for Cadiz.
And in Serie A, Ola Aina was in action for Torino who lost 1-0 away to AC Milan.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud got the only goal in the 18th minute.
Aina, who featured in his ninth league game, was brought off with 10 minutes left.
The defeat leaves Torino with only  one win of their last five games, suffering three defeats and one draw
  Simeon ‘Simy’ Nwankwo provided an assist as Salernitana won after scoring a late goal in their 2-1 win at Venezia on Tuesday, 
It was Simy’s second assist in his 10th league appearance while his Nigerian teammate Joel Obi was replaced on 76 minute.
Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi was an unused substitute for Venezia. His compatriot, David Okereke featured and came off in the 74th minute.
With the game destined for a 1-1 draw, Simy set up Andrea Schiavone to snatch the winner.
After former Manchester United Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero missed a cross from the right, Simy nodded down at the back post for Schiavone to react quickly and drill in for his first ever Serie A goal.
Venezia were reduced to 10 men after Chelsea on loan midfielder Ethan Ampadu was shown a straight red card on 67 minutes.
Prior to Tuesday’s game, Salernitana had lost their last two league games while for Venezia it’s now back-to-back league losses.
Despite the win Salernitana remain in the relegation zone in 19th position on seven points and Venezia occupy 16th place on eight points.
