Monday 2nd August, 2021: All is set for the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, First Annual Lecture.

The lecture scheduled to hold today (Monday, 02 August) is themed “Research for Development in the Agricultural Sector: The Role of Research Institutes in Innovative Value Chain Transformation” at Prof. E. A. Adebowale Training Hall, IAR&T, Ibadan. Time is 11:00am.

The lecture which is first of its kind since the establishment of the institute will be delivered by Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro FAS FNIAS FNSAP FCASN FSPSP FASAN DSc, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) while the chief is Prof. Eyitope O. Ogunbodede, the Vice-chancellor Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Osun.

The Executive Director of the research institutes Prof. Veronica Obatolu in an exclusive Interview with CEOAFRICA, said “the event is the first lecture of the institute for over 50 years it has been established”

“This is the first time we want to have an annual lecture and this annual lecture is for us to be able to enrich the research activities of the institute by bringing in people that has been recognized in research development in the country which at the end which will contribute immensely to the research development of Nigeria.”

The erudite professor thereby charged people from all over the country to join the program either by physically or virtually so as to acquire different knowledge on agricultural innovation and its economic contribution to Nigeria as a whole.

She added that the lecture is intend to proffer an alternative means for creative innovation within the agricultural sector which at the end will bring development into any form of research activities.

She stated the benefit of the forth coming lecture to the research development in Nigeria is to improve the research output, adding that even researchers will also tap from the knowledge of the speaker to improve their research activities in develop innovation which can be used to disseminate and train the unemployed youth in the country.
