Chrisland University Commiserates with Aig-Imoukhuede Family

Friday- 16th July, 2021: Chrisland University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola, FAS, on behalf of the Chancellor/Chairman of BOT, Chrisland University, High Chief Dr. Mrs. Winifred Awosika, OON, the Pro-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ayodeji Olukoju, FNAL, Members of the BOT, Governing Council, Management, Staff and students commiserate with the family of Mr. Frank Abiodun Aig-Imouhkuede on the passing to glory of their beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt, Pastor Mrs. Emily Okhenren Aig-Imoukhuede (Nee Ihonde) who slept in the Lord on 8th June, 2021.

Prof. Babalola, in her condolence message addressed to the family, noted that the deceased was a bosom friend of the Chancellor, High Chief Awosika, and a prominent and valuable member of the Board of Trustees, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

“We in Chrisland University remember her visits to the Institution with High Chief Dr. Mrs. Winifred Awosika, and her contributions to the University.

Her contributions to the Nation as a Board Room Executive in several organizations including NUC and as President of National Council of Women’s Society (NCWS) cannot be quantified. Indeed, the University has enjoyed her wealth of knowledge and experience”.

She added that Late Pastor Mrs. Aig-Imouhkuede was a role model, and an epitome of kindness and support, noting that the deceased lived an impactful life which is worth emulating.

Prof. Babalola prayed to God to bless and multiply all she left behind.

Similarly, a funeral rite to honor Late Pastor Aig-Imoukhuede (nee Ihonde) was held von Tuesday, July 15, with a Service of Songs in Lagos State.

In attendance were the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice-Chancellor, Business Mogul and Billionaire, Aliko Dangote, Prof. Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola, FAS, and other dignitaries.

A funeral service will be held at noon at Our Savior’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, today, Friday, July 16 after which her body will be interred.

Funeral ceremonies will close with an outing service on Sunday, July 18, at 9:00 a.m., at Our Savior’s Church Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

Born on October 27, 1941, in Sabongida-Ora, the late Pastor Emily died peacefully in her sleep on the night of June 8, 2021, in Surrey, England. Since her death, an avalanche of eulogies, condolence messages and tributes have been pouring into the Aig-Imoukhuede family, a testament to the life she led for almost 80 years.
