Joint Task Force Rescues kidnapped Commissioner’s Mother In Rivers

The Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU)of the 2 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, has rescued the mother of Rivers State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. George Tolofari, from her abductors.

The freed woman, Mrs. Glo­ria Tolofari, who was abducted about two months ago in Port Harcourt, was rescued  at an en­clave in Azuzuama in Southern Ijaw area of Bayelsa State.

Confirming her release to journalists, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, the Army Public Rela­tions Officer in the state, Major Michael Etete, said she was res­cued on Tuesday, through the joint effort of the Department of State Service (DSS).

“2 Brigade Anti-kidnap Unit, Port Harcourt, in a joint op­eration with the Department of State Service has rescued the kidnapped mother of the Rivers State Commissioner for Trans­port, Mrs. Gloria Tolofari.

“The victim, who was kid­napped about two months ago was rescued on Tuesday, Sep­tember 23, 2014, following a raid operation at Azuzuama in Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State.
