A member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has congratulated Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano on his victory at the Supreme Court, which threw out multiple appeals challenging his victory at the last governorship election in the state.

Ezeonwuka who is the Ogirisi Igbo commended the judiciary, saying the decision of the apex court was truly a wise one. He said if the suit had gone the other way, it could have destroyed the progress being enjoyed in Anambra under the APGA government.

In a statement issued yesterday, the APGA chieftain commended those whom he said stood for truth and justice during the period the case was in court and called on Igbos to join APGA in moving the South East region forward.

H e said : “It is only APGA that has succeeded in uniting Igbo. The transformation of Anambra State which started with Chief Peter Obi and currently moving with the speed of light under Chief Willie Obiano is a testimony that APGA is the party for the South East region. Under APGA, we as a people can negotiate an alliance with the PDP in the case of the return of President Goodluck Jonathan as our president in 2015, but we must not compromise with other positions like Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly. Igbos have matured in politics and we can no longer be used and dumped. We shall no longer be intimidated in following a party that causes disunity in our land. It is time to put an end to the era of disunity, ruins and decay. I want to use this opportunity to thank our leader, Chief Sir Victor Umeh for doing everything possible to rescue and sustain our great party. I thank Arewa people in Anambra and the youths of Igbo Ga adi Nma for giving APGA the needed support.”

Ezeonwuka said he was optimistic that APGA will take over the South East states by 2015, adding that the spirit of the late Ikemba, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu will continue to lead the party in accomplishing the feat.
