IGP lauds Police officers for winning laurels to boost Nigeria Police image globally

Friday, 4th June 2021: The acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has applauded the great men of the Nigeria Police who recently won laurels in boxing competition for their international feats which have placed Nigeria on the global space of sports development.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, while receiving the policemen who brought honour to the Nigeria Police Force said this feat has added value to the status of the Nigeria Police Force.

A statement signed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi (mnipr) said the CP received one ASP Olanrewaju Durodola who returned to Nigeria on Sunday 30th May, 2021, from the World Boxing Council championship held in Tanzania, being a defending Champion and winner of the African Boxing Union (ABU), World Boxing Federation (WBF), World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Continental America (Cruiser Weight) Champions and one ASP Mattew Joshep who won the Professional Boxing Council (PBC) Common Wealth-Super Middle Weight Champion.

SPORTS DEVELOPMENT: LAGOS CP RECEIVES NIGERIA POLICE INTERNATIONAL BOXING CHAMPIONS.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, as part of his love for promoting talents and sports development, today Thursday 3rd June, 2021, received the two great police officers who recently won 5 boxing Cruiser Weight Champions and Super Middle Weight belts respectively at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja-Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police received one ASP Olanrewaju Durodola who returned to Nigeria on Sunday 30th May, 2021, from the World Boxing Council championship held in Tanzania, being a defending Champion and winner of the African Boxing Union (ABU), World Boxing Federation (WBF), World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Continental America (Cruiser Weight) Champions and one ASP Mattew Joshep who won the Professional Boxing Council (PBC) Common Wealth-Super Middle Weight Champion.

The police boss, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, NPM, fdc, applauded the great men of the Nigeria Police for their international feats that have placed Nigeria on the global space of sports development and added value to the status of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, was assisted during the reception by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Ahmed Kontagora, Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Bassey Ewah and other command's management team, the Command Sports Officer, DSP Folarin Olabode and their coach, Insp Austin Okporu.

CP Hakeem Odumosu also encouraged them to add more pep in their chosen career and Boxing with a view to contributing their quota to the national growth and development of our dear country.

The Commissioner of Police therefore donated some cash rewards to the duo to facilitate with and encourage them to do more.
