19 Year Old Remanded In Prison Over Murder Of Boy (8)

A 19-year old boy, Ali Alabi has been remanded at Agodi Prison, Ibadan for allegedly murder of one Buba Dandaji (8), the suspect according to police prosecutor Famuyimi James on August 19, machete’s the victim to death and committed an offence contrary to Section 316 and punishable under section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol.11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.

In the charge sheet, the accused had on 19 August, 2014 at about 7.30 pm at Karimu area of Ibadan, at Ibadan Magisterial District did unlawfully cause the death of the victim.

"That you Ali Alabi 'M' on 19th August, 2014 at about 7.30 pm at Karimu area Ibadan, in the Ibadan Magisterial district did unlawfully cause the death of one Baba Dandaji 'M' aged 8years by macheting him to death and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 316 and punishable under section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. 11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000", part of the charge sheet read.

The plea of the accused was not taken by Magistrate, O.A. Hamzat, who presided over the case.

She then ordered that the accused be remanded at Agodi Prison while adjourning the case till November.
