Ladoja buries mum in Ibadan

Former governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo State yesterday led other members of his family to buried his mother, Alimot Sadia Ladoja who died on Wednesday evening at the Yemetu, Ibadan family house of the Ladojas. 

Islamic burial rites, conducted by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Aruna yesterday afternoon was attended by the political associates of the former governor in Accord party as well as other well-wishers.

Alhaja Alimot Sadia Ladoja, according to family sources died of natural causes just few minutes before nine in the evening at the former governor's Ondo Street, Old Bodija, Ibadan residence. She was survived by six children including the former governor, Senator Ladoja.

 Meanwhile, a message condolence message by the Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi to the family said the deceased was said to deserve celebration rather than mourning.

The condolence message issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Media, Festus Adedayo and sent to one of his predecessors in office, Ajimobi said the death of Ladoja's mother, Alhaja Halimotu Ladoja and the matriarch of the Ladoja family at the age of 94 was unfortunate.

 According to Ajimobi, "even though our dear Mama, Alhaja Halimotu Ladoja, died at the ripe age of 94, nevertheless, we are still saddened with her demise.

"She was a not only a devout Muslim but also a quintessential mother, who was caring, loving and an epitome of motherhood.

"Besides, Mama was also a good example in philanthropy, she was always ready and prepared to share whatever she had with the less privileged", the governor added.

While condoling, Ladoja and the entire Ladoja family over the death of Alhaja Halimotu, Governor Ajimobi prayed the Almighty Allah to grant her Aljanah Firdaus, and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
