EIGHT PEOPLE have been confirmed dead in a bomb blast that rocked the School of Hygiene, Kano, Monday, afternoon, leaving few dozens injured.

The horrendous event took place when students were writing their examinations. The school is very close to the popular Gidan Murtala, that houses many ministries and other government departments.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano Command, Mr Aderenle Shinaba, who addressed the press, confirmed that one suspect was arrested in connection with the blast.

An eyewitness revealed that just few minutes before the incident, people around the scene became suspicious with the sudden moving out of one motorist who was seen zooming out recklessly from the school.

The police source added that the bomb was not planted so strategically, because there was no hole around the scene to attest to all that it was skillfully planted.
